Shamrock Nail Designs

There are lots of different types of shamrock nail art that you can do. Some are quite complicated and take a lot of special tools.

Or, you can use shamrock nail stickers like these and just add the festive touches using vinyl stickers.

Even easier, you can use Color Street nail wraps and simply apply them to your nails. They are made of 100% dry nail polish and work wonderfully. They have lots of shamrock nail designs.

What do I need to make shamrock nail art?

You need a few basic nail art tools. I really like having a nail art kit on hand rather than buying separate tools. But, if you only want the tools you need for this shamrock nail designs, you will need:

  • White nail polish

How do I make shamrocks on my nails?

  • Apply a base coat on each nail.
  • Apply a thin coat of the following colors: green, white, and gold
  • After a few minutes, apply a second coat on all your fingers for a richer color.
  • Draw green shamrock leaves, using a dot instrument.
  • Draw gold lines, using a fine tip brush
  • After everything is completely dry, apply a top coat on each nail, to make the colors last longer.

It’s really important that you use a base coat when you polish your nails. It helps keep your nails strong and prevents chipping and cracking. Check out the video on YouTube.

What is the best nail polish to use?

You can really use any good quality nail polish brand for shamrock nail designs. I don’t really see one brand as being a lot better than the other. If you want a more eco-friendly choice, Zoya is free of a lot of the harmful chemicals you find in other brands.

If you want a drugstore brand nail polish that lasts well, I have found that Essie nail polish works quite well. You can find that brand at places like Target and Ulta

If you want something that really lasts a long time, I really recommend Color Street. Or, you can try St Patricks Day gel nails which will last quite a while.
