Knock Off Clothing

I’ve shared before how to find designer clothes on a budget. I love wearing designer clothing, but I need to stick to my budget when I do.

Sometimes I’m able to splurge on a designer bag. But, most of the time I am learning how to shop at thrift stores and not look like it.

Buying designer knock offs is one way to look like you spend a lot more on your clothes than you actually do.

These same tips can help you find designer fragrances, replica designer shoes, and even designer-inspired jewelry.

What is knock off in fashion?

So, knock off clothing is a very close copy of designer fashion clothing that is sold at a lower price than the original.

It is not the same as buying fake designer clothes. Knock off clothing will not have the real brand’s label on it. It’s designed by a different fashion house intended to be a lower cost than the original.

Fake designer clothes are counterfeit and they are illegal. They will have the designer’s label on them even though they aren’t made by the designer. I never buy this type of clothing.

Is replica clothing illegal?

Counterfeit clothing is illegal. If you purchase a fake Coach bag with a Coach label on it, the company making it is breaking the law.

Hover, you can buy designer-inspired clothing legally. This is clothing that looks like one of your favorite designers but does not have the designer’s label.

In the fashion world, there is a very fine line between replica and counterfeit. Knock off clothing is completely legal.

Knock off clothing or counterfeit?

Counterfeit products are illegal in most countries. And, the government and the brands themselves spend lots of money trying to fix the problem.

However, knock off clothing is not illegal unless the brand can prove that the two items look so similar that a consumer couldn’t tell the difference between the two.

Counterfeits are very difficult to distinguish from the real deal. The quality is not as good but the counterfeit does as much as possible to make the product look exactly like the real one.

Knock offs look very similar but they do not try to be an exact copy. And, they will never have the original brand’s logo or label on them.

Where can I buy replica clothes online?

It’s relatively simple to find knock off clothing online. You will just need to learn to search properly.

For example, this Luis Vuitton crossbody costs close to $3,000 when you purchase it directly from their website.

However, if you go to Amazon and search for a Louis-inspired bag, you will find this small brown checkered crossbody bag that is very similar.

It is made by a company called Risup and costs just a tiny fraction of a real LV.

For another example, this Gucci tracksuit for guys costs over $1,000 from their website. If you check out this tracksuit by a company called G-Style, you will probably see some similarities.

I found it by searching for “Gucci-inspired clothes” on Amazon.

And, if you’re in love with that stunning red quilted YSL bag at the top of the post, it costs a little bit over $1,000 from Yves Saint Laurent.  If that’s a little bit over your budget for a new bag, why not check out this version from Amazon.
