I think that being able to pamper your feet is something that we all deserve at the end of a long day. I’d love to head off to the spa for a foot massage but that’s really not going to happen soon.
There are lots of different ways you can soothe tired feed and trying a few of them at the same time may help you more quickly.
Your feet need regular care. So, it’s not enough to try these methods once or twice. Incorporate them into your daily routine.
Remember that your feet need pampering. Your heels can become dry and cracked if you aren’t careful.

Both! Using a combination works wonders. I first soak my feet in hot water for 15 minutes to soothe soreness.
Then, I follow up with a soak in cold water for 15 minutes to reduce swelling. You can repeat this process if you need to.
Will a heating pad help sore feet?
Yes, warmth will help with relief for aching feet. But, it works best in conjunction with the cold so alternating is really the best option. They make heating pads specifically for sore feet.
Try on and off with heat and cold at 10-minute intervals.
Is Epsom salts good for sore feet?
If you have sore feet, bunions, or corns, soaking your feet regularly in Epsom salts can help reduce pain. This is the perfect time to add your favorite bath salts to the tub and relax.
Epsom salts contain magnesium which can help reduce pain and inflammation.

Homemade foot soak for sore feet
This simple foot soak is one of the best ways to get relief for aching feet.
- 1 cup of Epsom salts
- 2 cups of baking soda
- 25 drops of peppermint or orange essential oil
Once you combine these ingredients, simply fill your foot bath with hot water and add about 1/4 cup of this mixture. Stir gently to combine.
Then, soak your feet for about 15 minutes.
Relief for aching feet with stretches
One of the best ways to relieve sore feet is to stretch. You can target your heel or toes depending on which area hurts the most. Or, you can work on all-over relief.
Try flexing, pointing, and curling your toes. Simply hold each position for a few seconds and move on to the next. Repeat as necessary.
Use arch supports
If you need relief for aching feet regularly, the problem may be your shoes. Did you know that your shoes need to be replaced every 400 or 500 miles?
The more you walk, the more you need to replace your shoes. If your shoes are showing wear to the bottom or sides, it’s definitely time for a new pair.
In the meantime, you can add a good pair of gel arch support pads to the bottom of your shoe. This can help a lot with relief for aching feet.
Apply a topical pain gel
If your feet are really causing you pain, you might want to try a pain relief gel for temporary relief. And, of course, follow up with your doctor if you don’t see an improvement.
