I’ve struggled with thin, sparse eyelashes for me entire life. Both of my children were born with gorgeous dark, thick, long eyelashes that I have always wished I had. Since I wasn’t blessed with thick, full lashes, I am always searching for the perfect mascara that will make it look like I was. I’ve tried quite a few different mascaras including the typical drug store brands and some of the higher end versions.  My goal is to have natural looking eyelashes. I am not interested in eyelashes that look like I’m wearing false eyelashes and I don’t want mascara that clumps and becomes brittle when I put it on. To me, that doesn’t look natural.

Maybelline The Mega Plush Mascara Review

Maybelline The Mega Plush Mascara says that it is a revolutionary gel-mousse formula that gives you mega volume with no brittle feel.

Ingredients: Aqua/Water/Eau, Paraffin, Cera Alba/Beeswax/Cire Dabeille, Styrene/Acrylates/Ammonium Methacrylate Copolymer, PEG-200 Glyceryl Stearate, Copernicia Cerifera Cera/Carnauba Wax/Cire de Carnauba, Butylene Glycol, Silica, Ethylenediamine/Stearyl Dimer Dilinoleate Copolymer, Stearic Acid, Cetyl Alcohol, Palmitic Acid, VP/Eicosene Copolymer, Lithium Magnesium Sodium Silicate, Dimethicone, Aminomethyl Propanediol, Phenoxyethanol, Polyurethane-35, Caprylyl Glycol, Sodium Dehydroacetate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Dimethiconol, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Disodium EDTA, Tetrasodium EDTA. [+/- May Contain/Peut Contenir: CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499/Iron Oxides, CI 77891/Titanium Dioxide, Mica, CI 75470/Carmine, CI 77007/Ultramarines, CI 77288/Chromium Oxide Greens, CI 77289/Chromium Hydroxide Green, CI 77742/Manganese Violet, CI 77510/Ferric Ferrocyanide].

The Mega Plush Mascara by Maybelline has a Flexor-Brush.  What does that mean? It means that there is a slight bend in the brush handle that gives the brush a bit of movement.  The package says that the brush caresses each lash and provides a full plush look. It is available in washable and waterproof formulas. I received the waterproof formula in Very Black (#275).

So what did I think?  The brush definitely takes some getting used to if you are used to having the traditional straight, non-movable type of brush.  I’m not sure that I saw a full plush look to my lashes after two coats but it definitely did give me that natural look that I love. My lashes didn’t feel at all stiff and I saw no flaking either.

This mascara will definitely leave you with more natural looking lashes. I think that a non-bending brush would be easier to apply for me but I’m sure once I use it a bit longer, I’ll get more used to it. You can find it in most mass retail and drug stores for about $8.
