Nuance Salma Hayek

Salma Hayek beauty products were originally released in 2011 and were available exclusively at CVS. I wrote this post in 2012 and it is being updated with more current information. The Salma Hayek cosmetics and skincare products may no longer be available at CVS but can be found online.

Salma Hayek launched a cosmetic line that after being frustrated with cosmetic and beauty products in the past. She resolved that quality products should not be a luxury. And, she sourced ingredients for these products from her homeland specifically Tepezcohuite (a plant that has been used on burn victims for centuries).

Is Tepezcohuite good for your skin?

Nuance Salma Hayek products often contain Tepezcohuite which is known for being antibacterial. The tannins from the bark have both antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds. This means that they can be soothing and calming for irritated or inflamed skin.

Is Nuance discontinued?

Nuance Salma Hayek products are no longer available in CVS according to news articles. However, the line has not been discontinued. You may be able to find it in other stores listed at the end of this article.

The beauty line includes a huge selection of bath, facial, hair, and cosmetic products including lotions, shampoo, body creams, scrubs, and eye creams. There are over 100 different products in the product line. Here are just a few:

Nuance Ultra Shine Lip Gloss by Salma Hayek

So, I recently had the chance to try the Ultra Shine Lip Gloss by Salma Hayek. It goes on silky smooth and gives a hint of color with some gloss. You can use it over your lipstick or you can choose to use it on your bare lips for more natural color.

You can buy the lip gloss in these colors today:

Nectar
Strawberry
Pomegranate
Berry
Clear

You may be able to find other colors, but those were the ones that came up as available today. Nectar is a neutral tone. Strawberry is light red. Pomegranate is light pink. And, Berry is a darker pink. Clear is of course, clear with no color.

The lip gloss is in a squeeze tube with a round ball top so they are easy to apply without an applicator brush. Although, you could use a disposable brush if you prefer.

The lip gloss uses mimosa extract and mango seed oil to help keep your lips moisturized. Vitamins A, C, and E condition and protect your lips as well. It’s hypoallergenic, paraben-free and not tested on animals.
