Nicole Richie, daughter of Lionel Richie and co-star of Paris Hilton in The Simple Life brings back the late 1960’s style with a new fragrance called No Rules. Nicole Richie is married to Joe Madden and they have two children.

Richie has been the face of Bongo Jeans and Jimmy Choo advertising campaigns and is known for her iconic fashion taste. No Rules marks the second fragrance for Nicole Richie. Her first was a signature scent called Nicole.

Richie’s latest perfume launch is inspired by her overall views on fashion. “I try not to go by any rules, especially when I’m talking about mixing prints, because I’m so inspired by the ’60s and ’70s—and their rule was that there were no rules,” said Nicole Richie. No Rules creates originality and spirit in a way that makes what’s old new again and brings the ’60s and ’70s back to life. No Rules brings together styles of the late 1960’s from tie-dye to psychedelic patterns with a nostalgic nod to the Bohemian lifestyle in a way that makes it timeless.

The fragrance is described as:

The fragrance opens with top notes of sun-soaked Mediterranean Orange Flower, delicately sweet Turkish Almond Blossom and the rebellious essence of juicy Kumquat to create an irresistible tension that draws you in. At the heart, exotic Balinese Frangipani and Purple Jasmine exhale rich opulence, while a splash of Brazilian Coconut Water accentuates a carefree, Bohemian vibe. Sacred Sandalwood, indulgent Madagascan Vanilla Bean Extract and Amethyst Crystal Musk envelop the skin in a warm, sexy halo.

No Rules is a decidedly sweet, fruity scent that reminds me at first scent of a blend of cotton candy and bubble gum.  Definitely classified as a fruity, floral, No Rules is the perfect summer scent for the younger crowed. With Radiant Orchid as the 2014 color of the year, Richie certainly chose the right bottle for her new scent. Those familiar with Richie’s previous scent, Nicole, will notice that she kept the same exact cap for her new scent.  The overall look is rather ethereal and definitely in keeping with the Bohemian them.

No Rules by Nicole Richie Eau de Parfum will be available March 2014 for $45.00 (100ml) at fine fragrance retailers nationwide.

  1. She’s smart to launch an orange flower fragrance. Although I don’t wear perfumes, I think this will be a great choice for those who do. It sounds light and airy – perfect for the warmer months ahead!
