I’ve been looking into the benefits of using a gemstone facial roller. And, while researching I learned that you have to clean them a certain way to get the full benefits.

How to Clean a Face Roller
There are several different types of gemstone facial follers that you can use. I’ve looked into jade, amethyst, sodalite, and obsidian. Each has different benefits and is used for different skincare concerns.
So, once you’ve decided on the type of roller you need and started using it, you have to make sure it continues to give you good results.
Should I clean my face roller?
Yes, without a doubt, your facial roller has to be cleaned after every use in order to work properly. It will need to be wiped off with a damp cloth after every use to remove dirt, oil, and bacteria.
Even though your roller should not be porous, you shouldn’t submerge it in water. All you need to do is wipe it off with a warm damp cloth to remove any surface dirt or oil.
Then, use a towel to completely dry it and set it aside for the next use.
Will my facial roller absorb my cleansing products?
If you’re wondering how to clean a face roller and concerned about build-up, don’t be.
If you purchase a real gemstone facial roller, it won’t be porous. That means that it won’t absorb any cleansing oils, facial products, or oils from your skin.
That’s why all you need to do is use a damp cloth to clean it. You just need to remove the dirt from the surface.
How to clean rose quartz facial roller
Wipe it carefully with a damp cloth to remove any surface residue. Then, towel it dry completely. You can put your roller in the refrigerator for a refreshing way to calm puffy eyes.
You can use this same process with any of your rollers.
Tips to get a really deep clean
If you are wiping down your roller after every use, there should be no build-up of oils or dirt on it. But, if you’ve ignored it and can’t get it clean with just a damp cloth, you can use a very gentle facial cleanser to clean it. (I like this one.)
Do not fully submerge the roller in water. Instead, get a good lather of your cleanser on a washcloth and clean it that way. Then, with a different damp cloth, wipe the lather off and dry it completely.
Where to store your jade roller
Now that it’s clean and dry, where should you keep it until you need it again? Whatever you do, don’t stash it in the medicine chest in the bathroom. If this falls out, it may crack and you’d need to buy a new one.
Instead, keep it n the bag it came in (if it does) in a drawer. If it didn’t come in a bag, you can wrap it in a soft cloth instead.
Don’t store it somewhere that is hot and humid like the bathroom. Keep it in your bedroom. Or, you can store it in the refrigerator.
Can I keep my jade roller in the fridge or freezer?
Yes, you can keep it in the fridge or freezer if you like. It’s so refreshing on a hot day to use a roller that’s cold to the touch.
Jade will stay cool to the touch naturally anyway, but if you want it truly cold rather than cool, you can definitely do this.
If you haven’t already found a face roller you like, they have a great selection here at Sephora.
