5 Pain Free Shaving Tips
Face it, shaving isn’t exactly pain free. Between nicks and cuts and razor burn, I’ve all but given up on pain free shaving. Since the bigfoot look isn’t exactly popular this year, I needed to figure out a way to remove hair that works. Here are a few tips that are helping me.
Never shave dry
I know you’re in a hurry but please don’t dry shave. Make sure your legs are wet and that you have soaked them in warm water to open the pores. This allows you to get a closer shave with less irritation.
Exfoliate first
After you’ve soaked your legs and warm water, use a gentle scrub to exfoliate them. You’ll release dead skin cells and leave the pores ready for hair removal. I find that a sugar or salt scrub works really well on my legs.
Shave with the grain
I know that most of us are used to shaving against the grain, but you are more likely to have ingrown hair follicles and razor irritation if you do. Instead, shave with the grain to reduce irritation.
Use a numbing gel
If you still have pain when you shave, you can try a pre and post shaving mist that will numb your legs. Not Feeling It by completely bare takes the ouch out of hair removal. You can use it before or after waxing, shaving or depilatory creams.
Ditch the razor
Instead of shaving or waxing, try completely bare easy off! foaming hair removal spray. Simply spray it on and wait 4 to 6 minutes. Then, rinse it off in the shower with a sponge or wet towel. You can find completely bare products at Ulta.com.
No matter which of these pain free shaving tips you try first, make sure you get your legs ready for warmer weather now! It’s right around the corner.

I’ve always been taught to go against the grain. I’ll have to try it your way. The winter hibernation is over and it’s time to start getting rid of the winter growth. LOL
I hope you find less irritation that way!
Great tips! I was hoping the hot weather would hold off a bit longer and I wouldn’t have to shave my legs ’till May! lol!
