I recently attended the Driving on Energi event in New York City where I learned more about the Ford C-MAX Energi. I’ve always been fascinated with alternative power sources and eco-friendly products. I think it’s really important that we let our purchasing choices tell companies what we value in products. This post has been sponsored, and I’ll be driving the Ford C-MAX Energi for five months so I can continue to share my thoughts with you.

Ford C-MAX Energi Hybrid Car
The Ford C-MAX Energi is a hybrid car. What that means is that it can run both on electricity and gasoline. A traditional care will run only on gasoline and many electric cars run only on electricity. A hybrid car like the Ford C-MAX Energi can run on both so you can never get stranded. For those that don’t live in the city, where there are a lot of places to charge an electric car, this hybrid ability is a definite plus.
When I first heard about the Ford C-MAX Energi, I had to do a bit of research. I wasn’t sure that there would actually be places I could plug it in where I lived in rural Vermont. After attending this event, I learned that I can use a regular outlet in my kitchen. Or, there are several charging stations within about 15 minutes of my home.
Most of the regular electric cars I’ve seen have been really tiny so I was concerned about how much room there would be in a hybrid like the Ford C-MAX Energi. I was quite pleasantly surprised to learn that even my son who is 6’4″ had no problem fitting in the car comfortably. With six adults in my home, leg room is definitely something I wanted to be sure we had plenty of.
I was also thrilled to see that there is plenty of room in the trunk to load up after a big shopping trip. I think my favorite Vera Bradley reusable bags look pretty snazzy in the trunk of the Ford C-MAX Energi, don’t you?

My first car was a Ford and my dad bought mostly Fords as I grew up. I’m not sure what he would think of electric cars but I think they sound very cool. Looking forward to reading your posts on the car.

Hope so, Deb!
We will be in the market for a new car in the next couple of years. I will have to keep this in mind. Love that it has a smaller carbon footprint!
Me too, Diane!
That looks so great! I’ve been wishing my family could move to an electric vehicle, but they’ve always been too small for our ginormous family.
We’re really enjoying this one so far!
This looks like an awesome family car! Thanks for sharing the pictures and details. I’ll have to check it out.
Glad to share, Olivia!
I’m impressed! Like you, I would worry that there wouldn’t be too many places to plug in, but this convinces me there would be. I’d love to learn more.
I’m definitely impressed!
We are a Ford family of motorheads, but I have to admit that I’ve never heard of the C-MAX. I will be following your experience! I drive a huge monster of a diesel Ford Excursion, but I’ll be looking for a small errand-running vehicle soon. This may be a good option for me! Our house has already gone solar … so a hybrid would fit in!
I definitely love it so far!
