Too Faced Chocolate Bar Review

Last Updated on July 2, 2022 by Ellen Christian

I sort of fell in love with the description and pictures of the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette I saw online. I guess I must have talked about it too much because one day, Marty bought me one! He really does listen to me when I ramble on about makeup. I finally had time to play with it over the weekend and decided it was time to share this Too Faced Chocolate Bar review with you.

Too Faced Chocolate Bar Review

Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette is an eye shadow palette. It contains 16 different eye shadows – matte and shimmer. Shades include a variety of browns, pinks, and plums.

The eye shadows are pigmented with pure, antioxidant-rich cocoa powder so when you breathe deep, you really do smell chocolate! Included with the eye shadow palette is their signature how-to Glamour Guide with three looks to get you started.

So your first question might be, why cocoa? Too Faced Co-Founder and Creative Director Jerrod Blandino were inspired to combine the power of antioxidant-rich cocoa powder and makeup while having a chocolate facial and learning about the benefits of cocoa at a Hawaiian spa.

And to answer your question, no you won’t smell like a candy bar after using this eye shadow.

Is Too Faced Chocolate Bar edible?

No. It definitely is not. This is eyeshadow. You cannot eat it.

When did Too Faced Chocolate Bar come out?

It was released in 2014 but is still just as popular today.

The entire palette looks like a chocolate bar including the outer box and the case. The names of all of the eye shadows are plays on chocolate as well. The palette includes fourteen .03 oz shadows and two .10 oz shadows.  I would say that seven of the shadows have a matte finish and the others have a slight shimmer. Shadows include:

  • Glided Ganache
  • White Chocolate
  • Milk Chocolate
  • Salted Caramel
  • Black Forest Truffle
  • Triple Fudge
  • Marzipan
  • Semi-Sweet
  • Strawberry Bon Bon
  • Candied Violet
  • Amaretto
  • Hazelnut
  • Creme Brulee
  • Haute Chocolate
  • Cherry Cordial
  • Champagne Truffle

The Glamour Guide includes three different looks including Milk Chocolate, Semi Sweet and Haute Cocoa. I’m very happy when products include application guides. It takes the guess work out of the application process for me.  I went with Semi Sweet in my photos and I really like the way it turned out.

So, I love that the Too Faced Chocolate Bar has both warm and cool shades and a good mix of lighter and darker shades.  I can easily get a daytime or evening look using the same palette which is very handy when traveling. I know this is going to be a palette I use all the time.

Have you tried the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette yet?
