BRÖÖ Craft Beer Thickening Shampoo and Conditioner

Have you ever heard of washing your hair with beer? Not only does it have B vitamins, but the proteins found in malt and hops are said to repair damaged hair and boost overall body.

The natural ingredients help your hair shine. Not everyone wants to pour a bottle of flat beer over their hair, so thankfully there is an alternative: BRÖÖ Craft Beer Thickening Shampoo and Conditioner.

They make BROO with all-malt, freshly-hopped craft beer as the main ingredient in their clean, ultra-performing hair care and grooming products. There are several different lines of shampoo and conditions from including thickening, moisturizing, and invigorating products.

Buy it here.

Best of all, none of their products contain sulfates, parabens, phthalates, propylene glycol, harsh preservatives or artificial fragrance. Plus, it’s cruelty-free and vegan. And, no, your hair won’t smell like beer either.

My thoughts

So, I was a little bit hesitant about using a shampoo and conditioner that were made with beer. I’m not a big fan of beer or the way it smells so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was thrilled to find out that it doesn’t smell at all like beer. And, I really like the natural almost citrus scent.

I also appreciate that it doesn’t have a bunch of harmful ingredients in it and that it’s cruelty-free.  Since I color my hair (sshh don’t tell) I love that it is color safe. I don’t want to have to have my hair re-done any more often than I have to.

So, since I have very thin, fine hair, I usually look for a shampoo that will give me more volume and this thickening shampoo and conditioner definitely did that. I noticed an improvement the first time I used it. It contains extracts of aloe leaf to soothe your scalp.

A lot of thickening or volume boosting shampoos that you can buy have silicone in them. That’s what makes them volumize your hair. The silicone bonds to the strands in your hair. BRÖÖ Craft Beer Thickening Shampoo and Conditioner do not use silicone. The thickening comes entirely from the natural properties of the beer.

My husband enjoyed the shampoo and conditioner just as much as I did.

I would expect to have to pay a premium price for a shampoo that has all of these features. This shampoo is very affordable. A portion of every sale goes to clean water initiatives worldwide. This year, BRÖÖ is proud to partner with water.org

  2. You had me at thickening! I’d love to make my very thin hair thicker and I also learned that over half of what is in the tube is real craft beer. I’m also glad it doesn’t smell like beer because that smell makes me nauseous, lol.

  4. Why beer?” In the brewing process, malted barley releases B vitamins and proteins that nourish and condition hair, while hops flowers express their anti-oxidant rich essential oils to fight “hair” pollution. The result? BEER HAIR! Now we’ve taken beer hair “from saloon to salon!” Awesome smelling, with a clean ingredient list. And of course, our number

  6. number one ingredient in BRÖÖ is BEER. Why don’t we use water (which is free, and which is the #1 ingredient in every other shampoo?) Because craft beer (with its premium costs), has all the amazing B vitamins, minerals and proteins that make hair strong, shiny and healthy.

  17. I learned from their website that “IF YOU SMELL A SHAMPOO OR CONDITIONER THAT IS “APPLE-BERRY-LICIOUS,” IT IS MOST PROBABLY FAKE.”
Meaning these companies disguise the fake under Fragrance in their labels. Although I still have questions I would love to try their products.
