If you’re looking for the best bronzer for acne prone skin, keep reading! I love the way a summer glow looks on my face but with the dangers of skin cancer, I’m not sitting in the sun for any amount of time unless I am slathered with sunscreen.

Best Bronzer for Acne Prone Skin
That doesn’t mean that I’m giving up on a summer glow on my face. It just means I need to find the best bronzer for acne-prone skin. A non-comedogenic bronzer is the best option for acne prone skin because it won’t clog your pores.
What is a bronzer?
A bronzer is a liquid or powder applied to the skin to give it a healthy glow that simulates a suntan. I’m focusing on powder or pearl bronzers in this article because I have found that liquid bronzers settle into the “fine lines” on my face and look far less than natural.
If you want a blush / bronzer combination, I highly recommend Palladio. They offer botanical and vitamin infused cosmetics, including bronzers. Their baked bronzer is fantastic. Check it out here.
Quick Summary of the best bronzers for acne prone skin
- Physicians Formula Powder Palette Color Corrective Powders
- CoverGirl Queen Collection Natural Hue Mineral Bronzer
- Laura Geller New York Baked Bronze
When you’re looking for a bronzer for sensitive or acne prone skin, the best option is to go as natural as possible. Look at the ingredients and learn which ones you should avoid.
Hypoallergenic and noncomedogenic are two terms you should pay the most attention to. Depending on what products irritate your skin, you may also want to look for talc-free or paraben-free.
If fragrances bother you, you should also try to find a fragrance-free bronzer. Your best option may be to look for something that is natural or even organic.
What bronzers are noncomedogenic?
There are several different noncomedogenic bronzers but these are on my list for the best bronzer for acne prone skin.
- Physician’s Formula Bronze Booster
- Neutrogena Skin Blends Natural Radiance
- Guerlain Meteorites Light Revealing Pearls of Powder
The key to finding a bronzer that doesn’t cause acne is to make sure it’s noncomedogenic. You also need to be sure you are removing your makeup every night.
Sleeping with your makeup on is one of the worst things that you can do for your skin.
Best bronzer for sensitive skin
If you’re looking for the best bronzer for acne prone skin that is sensitive, you still have a few options. Luxury by Sophia Mineral Bronzer is 100% natural and organic.
Plus, it’s talc-free, gluten-free and paraben free. It’s a fantastic choice for those with sensitive skin and allergies.
How to use a bronzer
Everyone has their own technique for applying a bronzer. But, beauty experts recommend that you brush it on the side of your face following the number 3 shape.
This shape would begin at the top of your forehead and then come down to your cheeks and finally your chin. Be sure to blend the bronzer into your hairline for a natural look.
Or, you can brush it along your cheekbones, nose, and lip or chin area. Just find a technique that works for you.
In most cases, you should ditch the brush that comes with it and use a kabuki brush for the best coverage. Or, at least use a good blush brush.
List of best bronzers for acne prone skin
So, here is the breakdown for my top choices.
Physicians Formula Powder Palette Color Corrective Powders
This very affordable bronzer is available in a wide range of shades. This is a light, matte bronzer that gives of a healthy, natural glow with no shimmer.
It is hypoallergenic and created without any of the 150+ known irritants. This gets my vote for the best noncomedogenic bronzer.
Makeup Revolution Mineral Bronzer
This bronzer is a wonderful choice for women with darker skin tones. It is non-clogging and gives you a sun-kissed glow. It’s enriched with natural minerals and helps control shine.
Neutrogena Skin Blends Natural Radiance Bronzer
This bronzer is both fragrance-free and non-comedogenic. This does have a shimmer which some people like and some don’t. I like the way it looks during the summer. Plus, it contains a botanical conditioner to help soften your skin.
Physician’s Formula Bronze Booster
This is one of the more affordable bronzers available from Physician’s Formula. This line tends to be a bit darker than the one above. So, it’s probably a great bronzer for those with medium skin tones.
Guerlain Meteorites Light Revealing Pearls of Powder
By far the best bronzer for mature skin. This is a higher-end bronzer but well worth the price tag. It gives your whole face a slight glow and makes it look very natural. It is not fragrance-free so be aware if fragrances are an issue.

I like Physicians Formula Powder Palette Color Corrective Powders. No shimmer so, if you aren’t into shimmer bronzers, this would be great for you. Also, it doesn’t show any texture, I feel like this just seamlessly melts into my skin and just kind of gives you that natural bronze look.
Thanks for the recommendation!
