Benefits of Dead Sea Mud Shampoo
Using a Dead Sea Salt Shampoo is one way to help manage scalp psoriasis. The Dead Sea is also called the Salt Sea. It is a salt lake bordering Jordan to the east and Palestine and Israel to the west. To be honest, I had to look it up on a map since my geography is a little rusty.
The Dead Sea is one of the saltiest bodies of water in the world. It’s almost ten times saltier than the ocean. Dead Sea mud is particularly high in magnesium, sodium, potassium, and calcium.
The mineral content of the Dead Sea is very different from the ocean and it’s that mineral content that makes it popular in a variety of cosmetics and health and beauty treatments like Dead Sea Shampoo.
Great looking hair starts with a healthy scalp. Things like psoriasis, itchy scalp and dandruff can negatively impact the health of your hair.
Mud from the Dead Sea is known to improve the health of your skin and scalp. The Dead Sea minerals in the mud provide relief for a dry or irritated scalp and leave your hair naturally moisturized, fuller and more manageable.
I’ve heard a lot of good things about using a Dead Sea Mud Shampoo for Psoriasis.
Adovia Dead Sea Mud Shampoo
I received a bottle of Adovia Dead Sea Mud Shampoo with Dead Sea minerals, Vitamin E, and chamomile for review. This shampoo is suitable for all hair types.
It is formulated with Dead Sea mud and natural moisturizers like olive oil, grape seed oil, and aloe vera. Vitamin E strengthens the hair root and chamomile leaves your hair soft and flexible.
The formula based on Dead Sea Mud brings relief from the symptoms of seborrhea dermatitis, psoriasis and other scalp-related problems like dandruff.
My Review
The Adovia Dead Sea Salt Shampoo has a very light scent that I really loved. Some shampoos smell too heavily of perfume but the shampoo has a much more natural scent. I used about a nickel-sized amount of shampoo when I wash my hair.
This isn’t a super thick Dead Sea mud shampoo. The shampoo is thin and a silvery grey color. While you don’t get a lot of lather, it definitely does a great job. And, I would definitely use it again.
I don’t suffer from a scalp-related problem, however, this shampoo leaves my hair so soft that I would definitely continue to use it again for just that reason. I was worried that using a shampoo with mud in it would weigh down my hair. Since I have very thin hair, that’s a big concern of mine.
Thankfully, I did not notice any difference in the body my hair had after I used it. You can definitely use this with fine hair.
I love that Adovia does not test their shampoo on animals. That is very important to me and I look for products marked not tested on animals when I shop. I learned that Dead Sea salts and mud have been featured on CNN, in the Wall Street Journal and New York Times so I definitely feel more confident about the benefits of Dead Sea mud shampoo for psoriasis and other conditions.
Where can I buy Adovia Dead Sea Salt Shampoo?
Look for this shampoo in your local salons. I have not been able to find this online. But, this brand is available on Amazon and is very highly rated. There are other Adovia products on Amazon.

I’m testing this out myself right now and my husband and I both like it very much. I agree with you about the scent – not too heavy yet enough to make shampooing pleasant. I have the conditioner arriving shortly.
Oh that conditioner sounds amazing too!
This has to be good – I’ve heard so much about it!!!
It really is, Lena!
I like that the dead sea mud shampoo doesn’t weigh hair down.
I do too, Shelley. Great benefit.
I’ve used a lot of Dead Sea products but I’ve never seen a brand making a shampoo before. I would worry about a natural smell, but you have convinced me that’s not an issue. I’ll have to try this sometime!
The scent is really very pleasant so not an issue at all.
I have heard about dead sea mud for skin, but not for hair. Sounds like something I would like to try.
Definitely recommend it, Jenn!
Ive used dead sea mud on my face and in a bar form but never tried a shampoo. Looks like it would be very helpful!
I have a mask as well and I really love how it makes my skin & hair feel.
I’d love to try just a sample since I’ve never used any mud products on my hair. I do love the face mud though so willing to give it a go!
It does an amazing job, Deb!
This so sounds like something my scalp needs! Through the Fall & Winter my scalp gets the winter itch. I wonder if this dead sea mud would help el this itchy issue?
