When I was a little girl, my bed was always covered with beautiful hand pieced quilts that my grandmother made. We had piles of quilts that she had created for us using materials she had reclaimed. I always admired the quilts she made. The patterns were gorgeous and I could see how much attention she put into creating each one. Sadly, this was never a skill that I learned and she was the last one in our family to create these gorgeous quilts.
I’ve always admired families that have passed on their craft from generation to generation. It’s a wonderful connection to your history and often to the culture in your area. There are small villages scattered around the world that hand down their craft from generation to generation whether it’s a ceramist in Brazil or a farmer in the Andes who hand weaves alpaca sweaters.
Novica in association with National Geographic has created a bridge connecting our separate communities into one worldwide nation. It lets customers connect with crafters in many different countries to purchase silk scarves, silver charm bracelets or silver cross necklaces. I am absolutely in love with the jewelry from Novica. It just has that special touch that I don’t find in jewelry I find locally and I love knowing that it comes from another culture using skills that have been passed down from generation to generation. I received this beautiful garnet choker *Crimson Flight* from Thailand and it is just so gorgeous!
Now Novica is offering a home based business opportunity called Novica Live. This is what they have to say about the program:
Over the years, our customers have told us that they would love to see our products live and in person. For this reason, we launched our new party plan division giving new Consultants the opportunity to do just that — showcase beautiful gifts and jewelry through home parties in an entertaining way, while supporting artisans worldwide. If you’re interested in hosting a party, please visit our party plan page or if home based selling is of interest, then view our direct sales opportunities on our Consultant page. You can purchase their starter kit for only $199 if you mention you saw this opportunity on The Socialite’s Closet.
One of my lucky readers is going to win a $40 gift certificate from Novica to enjoy! Here’s what you can do for a chance to win:
