Yes! You can stay fresh during menopause. I know you may be seriously questioning this right now after the summer we’ve had, but I promise it is possible. There are a lot of things I’ve discovered I really don’t enjoy about menopause. Don’t even get me started about hot flashes and mood swings let alone bladder leakage. Stay Fresh During Menopause
Our bodies go through a lot of changes during perimenopause and menopause. Our hormone levels are changing which results in changes in our hair, skin, weight, moods and even body odor. All of these things can combine to make you look and feel less than fresh. Don’t give up though. Following these simple tips, you can still feel just as amazing as you did in your thirties.
Regular exercise will help you manage your weight and your hormones. It’s one of the best ways to stay looking and feeling younger. Plus, exercise helps to build bones and improve your mood. You don’t have to head to the gym to exercise. A regular walk around your neighborhood each day will do wonders.
The one thing I’ve noticed about my hot flashes is that they occur more often when I’m stressed or anxious. As someone who’s stressed regularly, this is a real problem. To help, I use a variety of techniques to help manage my stress levels including coloring, herbal teas, and yoga. Fewer hot flashes leave me feeling fresher.
Dress in Layers
Dressing in layers is one of the most effective ways for me to feel fresh during hot flashes. Wearing a lightweight top with a heavier sweater over it means I can take the sweater off when the hot flash hits and then put it back on when it’s over. If I had just worn a sweater, that would make cooling off much more difficult.
Drinking lots of water is one of the best ways to lose weight, improve your skin, and feel healthier overall. But, it’s also important to help flush toxins from your body. This can help with feminine odor after menopause. Be sure that you’re drinking enough water each day by keeping a refillable water bottle with you.
Hormone changes can mean that body odor is more of an issue as we age. Not only is it important to bathe regularly, it may be necessary to use a stronger deodorant or vaginal washes to help combat odor. Bladder leakage brings with it odor problems as well. Sneezing, coughing or simply laughing can be an issue for women as they approach menopause. Use the right products to handle incontinence, not period products.

I’m really working on my stress levels and think as you said, it does make a difference with the hot flashes. The best one on this list for me though is exercise and I am so blessed that I love it. I’m pretty thin so I’ve been working on increasing my muscle mass and it’s been challenging but fun. The hot flashes rarely bother me too so I know it makes a difference for me. I have a huge exercise DVD library that helps as well. My instructors will never age, lol, but I can try to keep up with them over the years!

These are great tips and you are correct with all the awful things that happen with menopause. On top of all the regular issues most women face, I have also been gifted with sjogrens syndrome after reaching menopause. It’s a difficult time to say the least!
It’s definitely not fun!
