Spring is just about here and that means that I need new clothes. OK well maybe I don’t “need” new clothes but I definitely want new clothes. There are several things in my closet that need to be replaced. Several pairs of pants are too big since I have dropped a few pounds. A few pairs of shoes are just not comfortable enough for me to wear again. Let’s not even talk about the HUGE stack of t-shirts that I never wear.

Clean Out Your Old Clothes
Just because the clothes are not ones that I want any longer, doesn’t mean that they cannot be used by someone else. Here’s a great excuse for spring cleaning: Your donation of used clothing or household goods to Goodwill helps create jobs directly in your community. I plan on donating the clothes I no longer want. You can find out the impact of your donation when you clean out your old clothes and other items by using Goodwill’s Impact Calculator.
Your donations support people who are seeking to earn jobs and build careers. To see how the process works, just watch the “How We Do It” PSA.
Now, I know, cleaning out your closet is probably not high on your list of things to do BUT once the closet is clean, you can feel great about buying a few more cute things to put into your closet. To make this whole process a little bit more fun, you can find out what your closet personality is. Just take this fun quiz to identify the type of closet you have and what you could donate.
If you’re anything like me, there are quite a few things in your closets that you no longer want or need. Take some time and declutter and donate them to help others. Then go shopping!

I resale my clothes first, then what they don’t take I give to Goodwill….always have..Goodwill also has some cool stuff to buy!!!
They do have so many neat things at our Goodwill!
I actually love donating my clothes at Goodwill… I actually do some shopping there too… The one in NYC has lots of brand name stuff that are brand new (tags still on)
That’s so great that you can find brand name clothes there! I always find so many neat things at ours.
I’ve got 2 bags filled with stuff to take to Goodwill this weekend.Of course, the kids will want to go in and shop to replace the clothes & stuff they are giving away. But, it’s all for a good cause so I’m happy.
LOL of course. Shopping is half the fun of donating!
I need to go through my boys clothes and change out them. Then I will donate. Even if the clothes have holes donate them as they can make rags out of them
My kids are doing that this weekend. We need to start bringing out a few things for spring.
we go to Goodwill often to donate stuff, but then go inside and look. I love to find USA made old dishes and fun stuff. My husband looks for vintage USA clothing. It’s a great company for donating, helping, and shopping.
I love their vintage dishes & glassware! I have found so many neat things!
We go to good will many times a year to get rid of clutter. I dont know where it all comes from but I like to find new homes for it when I can!
I totally agree, Diane! It just keeps multiplying!
We just moved into a new house, and it was definitely time to get rid of some clothes. We donated 3 or 4 boxes so far, clothes and other items. I definitely believe in donating items that are not getting any use.
That’s fantastic! I need to do more donating soon since I’m decluttering.
