You all know my passion for nail polish by now. I love my nail polish in all the different shades of the rainbow and then some. Just about all the nail polishes I’ve never seen have a glossy shine to them when you’re done putting them. Even the ones with sparkles seem to have a high gloss to go along with it.

I’ve just discovered Zoya’s Matte Velvet Lacquers and I’m impressed! Matte Nail Polish color by Zoya is intended to be worn with a base coat, but not a top coat or speed dryer of any kind. Due to the unique matte Zoya Matte Nail Polish color is not as long-wearing as traditional nail color.
I’m really loving the colors and somehow the fact that it doesn’t have that ultra high gloss actually makes it more noticeable. I’ve had several people comment that they like the *different* look of this polish. I agree that it doesn’t wear as long as the traditional Zoya colors. Normally Zoya polishes take me almost a week without showing too much wear. I was noticing wear on the matte colors on the second day.
I really do like this look though especially with a pair of faded jeans and a t-shirt. Somehow screams casual, relaxed day to me. You can find the Matte Velvet Lacquer in blue, green and pink. They’re part of the new summer 2011 line.
