When I was growing up, my mother always prized handmade gifts over every other type. There’s just something about the extra love and care that goes into something handmade that you just don’t find in anything mass produced. Making things from scratch seems to be a dying art lately. I still love to craft but sadly am lacking any talent whatsoever when it comes to working with fabric. I just cannot do it. So when I want something handmade with love, my first thought is etsy.

During one of my journeys through etsy, I came across an etsy shop that not only offers handmade items but offers handmade items made from recycled cashmere, wool and denim! Recycled and handmade are two of my very favorite words so you can see why I got so excited when I came across Merchantships etsy shop!
Being in Vermont, warm mittens are just a must have item. I don’t ever go outside in the colder months without warm mittens and they have to be warm. Some mittens are made just for show and sure they look cute but they really do nothing to keep your hands warm when the thermometer reads 5F outside. The mittens I found at Merchantships are not only gorgeous and fashionable but they keep my hands seriously toasty warm!
Merchantships makes mittens for men, women and children along with the cutest purses and bibs too. All of them are handmade with love and care and attention to detail. I just love the way she manages to combine different fabrics with different colors and feels and turn them into not only a functional pair of mittens but a gorgeous fashion statement. I love the added detail of the buttons! Definitely makes these a one of a kind item.
