Fall Fashion Over 50 That Hides Weight Gain

Fall fashion over 50 doesn’t have to be baggy. Let me get real with you here for a minute. Menopause has struck and with it weight gain that I cannot seem to get rid of. I’m not impressed.

And, for the past few months, I’ve given up a little bit and resorted to baggy jeans and oversized sweatshirts. That’s going to stop right now, and I wanted to share my new beginning with you.

Fall fashion over 50 doesn’t have to be frumpy. Don’t think that because you’re aging you need to give up on being stylish. Even if menopause adds five (or ten) extra pounds when you’d rather it didn’t. You can still pay attention to how you look which will make you feel much better about yourself.

What you need for my fall fashion over 50 look

Liverpool Reese Ankle Legging in Dark Chocolate – Comfortable “Hollywood Waist” ankle legging with tummy control technology. Designed with a built-in panel to smooth your curves in the right areas. You wouldn’t know it from looking at it, but there are 6 built-in panels with elongating seams that help slim your thighs.

Plus, it has stretch to hug your curves when you need it to and give a bit when you don’t. An added plus is that they don’t have pockets which can make your tummy area bulge if you’re not careful.

3/4 Sleeve Marled Hacci Knit Top – This shirt is the perfect addition to your casual wardrobe. It offers a reversible v-neck or scoop neck and shark bite hem for a fun and flattering silhouette. Paired with your favorite leggings or skinny jeans, this top is just as stylish as it is comfortable. The shark bite hem is perfect to hide your hips. I’m wearing Tibetan Red.

Louvre Boot by Bennett Boots – I’ve had these for years and they are by far my favorite fall boot. It doesn’t look like this specific boot is still available, but I have linked to one that’s quite similar.

Puffer Vest with Faux Fur – I got the one I’m wearing originally from Swap.com. It came originally from Maurices. It doesn’t look like the brown is currently available but I see one in off-white and camo that is quite similar.

Tips for Fall Fashion Over 50

You may think that wearing looser clothes will help disguise weight gain, but in many cases, all it will do is make you look frumpy. I’m not saying that you should squeeze yourself into clothes that are too small. That won’t help disguise anything.

What you need to do is look for clothes that have added support like these gorgeous leggings from Liverpool with built-in panels. And, look for shirts that fall below the waistline so they don’t draw attention to your hips or stomach.

Your body may have changed but the rules haven’t. Wear what looks good on you and feels comfortable at the same time. Of course, there are probably some things you should leave to the younger crowd.

I’m not sure that crop tops and booty shorts are a great idea at 50 no matter what you look like. If you need to, you can always add shapewear.

Don’t be afraid to show off your femininity. It’s OK to show off your sexy side when you choose your outfit. Just be aware that showing off too much as you age can have the opposite effect. Let your natural beauty shine through and you’ll feel better at any age.
